Cavell Meadows Project Celebration
Sunday, September 12
Mt. Edith Cavell Trailhead

The Cavell Meadows Restoration Project was capped off beautifully on Sunday September 12,
thanks to the many volunteers and donations that helped to make the event run so smoothly.
Over 60 volunteers, donors, staff and visitors were on hand to help celebrate the completion of this 3-year project.
We celebrated the Meadows and all that that means:
the Many hands that contributed to this collaborative project;
the Ecological restoration that has begun in this sensitive area;
the Awareness that we have raised about alpine areas and how our actions affect them;
the Donors who have helped to fund all aspects of this project;
the Organizing Committee who have worked together to set direction for the project;
the Wow's and positive feedback we have received from hikers and volunteers;
the Stewardship ethic that made this all possible.
The event was also a successful fundraiser for the project. Donation jars at the tea table raised $225, raffle ticket sales increased by $154, and t-shirt sales raised $280. This certainly helped us to close the gap on the last $20,000 to be raised.
Special thanks to:
Our bakers: Heather Aussant, Sue Cesco, Carolyn Fysh, Sherrill Meropoulis and Matty Gibson for the deliciously homemade treats, and Marguerite Dumont for the historic and fabulous orange bread
